Mittar Pyare Nu Haal Mureedan Da Kehna

Please tell the dear friend - the Lord - the plight of his disciples.
Without You, rich blankets are a disease and the comfort of the house is like living with snakes. Our water pitchers are like stakes of torture and our cups have edges like daggers. Your neglect is like the suffering of animals at the hands of butchers. Our Beloved Lord's straw bed is more pleasing to us than living in costly furnace-like mansions.

These lines were said by Guru Gobind Singh Ji... when he came in Machhiwara's Jungle..... today i went to CharanKawal Gurudware Sahib (in machiwara village)to see that place.. very nice... that tree is still reflecting the presence of Guru sahib under which he said these lines.....

Satnam Sri WaheGuruji. Nice blog, thanks
Having lost his four sons,
and pushed back in the battle,
The tenth guru recited this,
wandering wildly in a jungle.
The pain in the mortal being,
is so moving in the lyrics,
Imagine the Guru wounded all over,
and managing his rest on the bricks.
Rafi sahib did full justice with voice,
every word makes you fall apart,
None other could recite this ever,
His voice simply shears your heart.

my eyes get watery almost everytime I hear this shabad. I feel that pain.. that restlessnesses of missing the ones you love. Mohd. Rafi sahab has sung this verse so well that words fall short in his appreciation.
This is just word meaning. The real essence and meaning is something spiritual. Can some sikh scholar explain this.
